Getting started

Create an agent

Describe your business and get a draft agent, start from a template, or begin with a blank one.

There are three ways to make an agent. All of them make a draft: nothing reaches customers until you connect a channel.

1. Describe your business (fastest)

  1. Go to Agents and click Templates. This opens Create your agent.
  2. In the box at the top, describe your business in a few sentences: what you sell, your hours and policies, and what customers usually ask. You can also speak instead of typing. At least 20 characters, up to 4,000.
  3. Click Draft my agent. It takes up to a minute.
  4. Read the draft: its name, prompt, first message, sample tests and suggested triggers. Change anything, untick what you do not want, then create the agent.
  5. Fill in anything shown in [square brackets]: the AI leaves those where it did not know the facts (a phone number, an address, a price).
Describe your business, or pick a template below it.

2. Start from a template

On the same page, below the description box, is a gallery of ready-made agents: support desk, sales, appointment booking, payment reminders, admissions desk, restaurant orders and more. Filter by industry, then click Use this template →. The agent is made at once and greets you out loud so you can hear its voice. Some templates come with sample webhooks: point them at your own systems before going live.

3. Blank agent

  1. On Agents, click New agent.
  2. Give it a name and pick the channels it is for and the languages customers may use. The first language is the main one: the agent starts in it and replies in the customer's language.
  3. Pick the voice it speaks in on calls, and save.
  4. Write its instructions on the Prompt tab.

What next

  1. Talk to it on the agent's Test tab. Switch Voice on to hear it as a caller would.
  2. Make it yours: replace the names in square brackets in its prompt, add your documents on Knowledge.
  3. Put it live: connect a phone number, WhatsApp, a chat app or your website.
